About the Journal

The International Journal of Governance and Political Sociology (IJGPS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing research in the fields of governance, political sociology, and public policy. Published by the Indonesian Society for Governance and Public Finance (ISGOV), this journal seeks to explore the dynamics of governance structures, political systems, and their socio-economic impacts on societies worldwide. By focusing on both theory and practice, IJGPS aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of political and governance issues in a global context, with particular emphasis on the evolving nature of these fields in contemporary societies. The journal encompasses a wide range of research topics related to governance and political sociology, including state-society relations, political behavior, public administration, governance reforms, political economy, and the role of civil society. It provides a platform for interdisciplinary research that examines the complex interaction between governance structures and social dynamics, highlighting how political decisions shape social outcomes. As a double-blind peer-reviewed journal, IJGPS ensures that all articles meet the highest standards of academic rigor and integrity. Published biannually, with issues released in January–June and July–December, the journal invites original research articles, theoretical papers, case studies, and reviews that explore contemporary issues in governance and political sociology. It encourages submissions from scholars, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners who wish to contribute to the ongoing dialogue about effective governance practices, political transformation, and social justice. IJGPS actively seeks to publish research that engages with both local and global political contexts, fostering a better understanding of governance systems across different regions. Authors are expected to adhere to the journal’s submission guidelines, and manuscripts that do not meet these requirements will be returned without review. Only those manuscripts that meet the journal's standards will be considered for peer review and editorial evaluation. Through its commitment to advancing academic discourse in governance and political sociology, IJGPS aspires to become a leading journal in the field, facilitating the exchange of ideas and shaping policies that influence the development of effective governance and social well-being globally.
