Digital transformation after the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of technology in various sectors, including the legal system, presenting great opportunities as well as complex challenges for legal theory. This study uses a literature study method on 13 relevant scientific articles to analyze the urgency of updating legal theory in the face of technological developments. The results of the study show that the update of legal theory is needed to accommodate crucial issues such as electronic evidence, cybersecurity, personal data protection, and the legitimacy of the online judiciary. The proposed reform strategy includes revision of the legal conceptual framework, integration of cyber law in legal education, implementation of principle-based regulations, and the use of data-driven legal research to support evidence-based decision-making. Practical implications include the establishment of adaptive regulations, the strengthening of digital democracy, the improvement of the quality of online justice, and international legal cooperation. In conclusion, the renewal of legal theory is urgent and must be carried out collaboratively, oriented towards justice, transparency, and sustainability in the digital era.
